Who am I?

Since 2005, I have been a year-round surf instructor between Hossegor, Seignosse, and Capbreton. I guide each person with a human, progressive, and tailored approach.

I’m Mikaël (Mike).

Surf instructor since 2005, based in Saubion, between Hossegor, Seignosse, and Capbreton, I travel daily to the spots best suited to the conditions.

Living here, in the heart of this coast, is a real privilege.

Originally from the Breton coast, I grew up with the ocean, the waves, and the wind, before settling in the Landes, where I now surf on some of the most internationally recognized spots.

Surf school Capbreton

Trained in Handisurf by the French Surfing Federation for over 15 years, committed to adapted surfing since earning my State Surf Instructor certification, and certified in Sport and Surf Therapy, I have built my journey around a simple conviction:

Surfing can be a true tool for personal growth, self-confidence, and well-being, accessible to everyone.

Surf school Seignosse

After earning a high school diploma in communication, I had only one thing in mind: ride and travel.

I worked seasonally in the mountains during winter and as a surf shop sales assistant in Vieux-Boucau in summer. This rhythm allowed me to alternate between work, snowboarding, surfing, traveling… and self-discovery.

From the waves of Indonesia to the coasts of Sri Lanka, as well as Guadeloupe, Morocco, and Portugal, these experiences have shaped my vision of surfing and my personality.

I also had the chance to design surfboards from start to finish, adapting them to my level and the types of waves I surf. It was an incredibly enriching experience, both practically and intellectually.

Alongside surfing, I am also a certified first aid instructor.

This dual expertise naturally led me to place safety, prevention, and attentiveness to others at the heart of every session I lead.

My philosophy is to share my passion for surfing while connecting with each person in their own world.
Because we always learn from others, in every area of life.

👉 Place the individual at the center of every session, taking into account their sensitivities, journey, and experiences.
👉 Quickly identify obstacles and fears to adapt the session and provide guidance that is fair, fun, and progressive.

On a personal level, I am the father of Morgann, 14, who competes in the French adapted surfing championships.

This life experience has deeply reinforced my convictions about inclusion, accessibility, and personalized guidance—far beyond the professional setting.

Surf school Capbreton

Over the years, I have organized and supervised numerous surf trips in Hossegor,
Seignosse and Capbreton with:

Individuals.

Teenagers.

Groups.

Companies.

What defines me daily?

A good mood (so they say… 😄), a simple, approachable, and deeply authentic approach.

I enjoy creating a relaxed and supportive environment where everyone can feel comfortable, progress at their own pace, and have fun in the water.

It’s this entire journey—terrain, teaching, safety, sport, and human connection—that gave birth to The Social Surf Experience:

👉 A way to experience surfing differently, more fair, more human, and adapted to everyone.

In the Landes, along the Basque-Landes coast between Hossegor, Seignosse, and Capbreton, the off-season is a special time: fewer people, more availability, and enhanced quality of guidance.

👉 This is often when the experience truly comes alive.
